They are just better....

Crayola crayons that is. I have been a long time believer in the Crayola brand-silly I know. But other brands just don't get the job done. There are some crayons that just break so easily, and I don't love their color options.

So the whole reason for this post, doesn't really have to do with crayons, but rather with Crayola in itself. I was doing an art project for my students at school and needed colored chalk. I had one box of Crayola colored chalk, but needed a lot more. I had forgotten to get some while at Target during the week....so I found my self driving around to any open store the night before the project (trying to avoid Wal-Mart at all costs....whole new story) anyway, I journeyed to Shopko to find a wide array of Crayola products (including new ones that looked fun), but no colored chalk. I settled for an off brand that was on clearance (yes, I should have picked up the warning sign from that detail alone). Then set off to my grocery store, and while picking up a few other items, found some colored chalk, again an off brand. I looked inside the boxes to check the vibrance of the colors and such, they seemed fine. (Fine until I put them next to the Crayola brand, huge difference in color and vibrance).

Fine until it was time for the project. The students picked three colors each and set to work....the ones that picked the off brand chalk were not turning out at all...mainly because the colors were not bright enough, they were so dull.

I rearranged students to sit by others with the Crayola chalk and share. Made a few start over (they were thrilled). I knew the Crayola brand would work better, but it amazed me how much better it worked.

So I've said it before, and I'll say it again....Crayola is just a better brand (for almost everything)
